Connect Claude Desktop to Token Share
Point the Claude desktop app, including Cowork and Code, at Token Share — from its own settings or with CC Switch. No terminal needed.
Install Claude Desktop
- 1Sign in to Token Share and open the API Keys page.
- 2Click Create key, choose the Inference type, and copy the key that starts with
sk-token-. It is shown in full only once. - 3Top up with USDT on the Billing page. Claude models are paid from topped-up balance only.
- 1Download the app for macOS or Windows from claude.ai/download and install it.
Option 1: in the app’s own settings
Claude Desktop has a built-in setting for a third-party gateway, used by both Cowork and Code. Menu names can differ slightly between versions.
- 1In the menu bar choose Help → Troubleshooting → Enable Developer Mode. The app may restart, and a Developer menu appears.
- 2Choose Developer → Configure Third-Party Inference and set the connection type to Gateway.
- 3Fill in the fields as in the table below, then save.
- 4Quit Claude Desktop completely (⌘ + Q on macOS; on Windows, right-click the tray icon and quit) and open it again.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Gateway base URL | https://token-share.app — no /v1 |
| Gateway API key | Your Token Share key |
| Auth scheme | Bearer |
| Custom headers | Leave empty |
| Models | Add the ids you want, such as claude-sonnet-5-5 and claude-opus-5-5, from the model list |
Option 2: with CC Switch
- 1Install CC Switch as described on the CC Switch page.
- 2In the top bar, select the Claude Desktop tab (the second Claude icon), then click the orange + in the top-right corner.
- 3Choose a custom provider. Name it Token Share, set the endpoint to
https://token-share.appand paste your key. - 4Save, click Enable on the new provider, then restart Claude Desktop.
Either way, once Claude Desktop restarts, Cowork and Code run through Token Share, and each request shows up on the Billing page.
Troubleshooting
On Windows, Virtual Machine Platform not available means a Windows feature the Claude workspace needs is switched off:
- 1Press Win + R, type
optionalfeaturesand press Enter. - 2Tick Virtual Machine Platform and click OK.
- 3Restart the computer, then open Claude Desktop again.
Requests still going to your Anthropic account usually mean the app was not fully quit after saving. Quit it from the menu bar or tray, not just the window, and reopen it.
